The Bird was host to an evening of good vibes and toasty tunes this week, making for a perfect way to break up the week and liven up the mood leading into the weekend. Completing the bill was local talent Teen Angst, Siobhan Cotchin and Gap Year.
Friday night saw a celebration of the amazingly talented performers in Perth’s local music scene. With an incredibly stacked line up from start to finish and creative markets at the back of the room, Lady Powers was an excellent showcase of what Perth music can be all about. Organised by PlantMilk Music and hosted at The Rosemount Hotel, it was a very successful night and I’m very eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Yomi Ship played to a packed out Jack Rabbit Slims this weekend to celebrate the launch of their new EP ‘Pyramids of Yonaguni’, supported by Tether, Post Depression Makeout Session, and Ah Trees.
JKD Photography If your heart beats at 175 BPM you need to get your butt down to Society - Drum and Bass.
Society has been around for a good couple of years now and showcases local producers and DJs in the bass scene. Once a month Society hosts some of the freshest local Perth drum and talent for an all exclusive drum and bass night! Headlined by BK1D and DINOSAWR, last Friday's event was one not too be missed. This Saturday the 27th of July saw RAKSHA'S final show performing together, after a 5 year run the band has decided to go their separate ways. Playing to an absolutely packed out Jack Rabbit Slim’s the band had a very fitting farewell for all the amazing shows they’ve played together over the past few years.
Photography - Kamil On the first Monday of every June, West Aussies come together to celebrate the beautiful country and state we call home to the sounds of local artists we love. This day of course is WA day!
This free showcase is brought to us by the West Australian Government and WAM each year, where we can experience a selection of incredible talent picked straight from the west. With a lineup full of emerging and local legends we were happy to see that each artist played on a dreamy clear day, to a well deserved crowd eager to sing along and dance to their favourite local acts. The Bassendean Hotel - 24/05/2019It was a quiet start to the night for Basso Friday’s, as soundcheck ended there was an air of excitement and anticipation for the night ahead. The bill of experienced, talented and well-loved members of the Perth scene promised a great show.
