If your heart beats at 175 BPM you need to get your butt down to Society - Drum and Bass.
Society has been around for a good couple of years now and showcases local producers and DJs in the bass scene. Once a month Society hosts some of the freshest local Perth drum and talent for an all exclusive drum and bass night! Headlined by BK1D and DINOSAWR, last Friday's event was one not too be missed.
I Loboski, had the pleasure of opening the night with a variety of sub genres of drum and bass; such as Rollers, Jump Up 'and some deeper techy vibes. Spindictive, another very talented DJ took over me with a wicked mix of old school drum and bass, with lots of dirty new rollers and the notorious fog horn sub genre.

On the main stage from 11-12 the decks were handed over to Embr a DJ/producer who is definitely one too watch! She once again threw down another banging set of Neurofunk, Jump Up and Rollers, with a lot of drum and bass I had never heard before, which was great after hearing a set from her not long ago at Inhibit & Death Disco's event T>I. Embr keeps this consistent energy in her sets that has everyone up and about on the dance floor. Not only is she making waves live, but in the studio she is producing certified bangers. Go check out some of her recent work in 'Error State' and also her symphonious vocals on Spooks new track 'Tell me'.

Just when you thought the shelling was over, the two headliners DINOSAWR and BK1D went back to back in an unforgettable set. These two are exceptional DJ’s, played a very heavy, lively set of predominantly Neurofunk and techstep. With Hypeman MC Pugz on the mic there was not a more exuberant place to be in the city of Perth.

Drum and bass events have an unparalleled energy that cannot be matched in any other scene. You are free to be as weird and idiosyncratic as you feel. The DnB scene is a non-discriminatory realm, it’s a place where people can connect through the love of the genre. I love the togetherness of drum and bass.
