Described as a band that travels within the art-rock genre, Vacuum Dreamer are preparing to invoke deep thoughts with their new single ‘Lynch Family Road Trip’.
The band is made up of five members: James Cunningham (bass/vocals), Ethan Bellhouse (guitar), Sean Leadbetter (guitar), Courtney Hardy (drums) and Lara Pollard (keys). The band emphasise that they take influence from all over the musical genre spectrum - including genres like post-punk, shoegaze, ambient and also from other big brow bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead and Stereolab.
It's only been a month since the release of their latest punk-infused track ‘Transperth City Cops’, which showcases their unique way of combining all their influences into one explosive song. Triple J presenter Dave Ruby Howe backs up their impressive mix of lyricism and musical experimentation; “Vacuum Dreamer backing up their shit-talking with some frisky DIY chaos. Carry on!” Now ready than ever to keep the release momentum going, Vacuum Dreamer are steamrolling ahead with single ‘Lynch Family Road Trip’ which serves as another detour into a combination of atmospheric post-punk territory. The song was recorded by Nick Ireland and mixed by Jordan Shakespere at Poon Head Studios. Featuring “subtle synths” and “gorgeous Rhodes piano passages to create glistening, moving melodies”, this track will serve as the final taster of what’s to come before their release of their debut EP titled ‘Space Camp’ (due late 2021). To celebrate the release, the band is hosting a release party at The Bird in Northbridge on August 25th. Supporting acts include Blue Honey, Amateur Retreat and The Quaay!
