Up and coming shoegaze band, Star Arcana, are coming back full swing with a Perth tour and release of their new single ‘Don’t Fade’.
The band started their journey together a few years ago in Year 12 and living in Albany way down south. Members James Clark (vocals/guitar), Tom Bloffwitch (drums), Sean Parkey (bass), Tom Hounsham (lead guitar) and Luke Dupuy (lead guitar) all decided to pursue music seriously in their gap year after graduating highschool; playing a number of shows down south and recording EP ‘Sun God’ with producer Alec Lane.
Their second lead single release in 2020, ‘Zone In-Out’ became the single that gained them a lot of traction and really solidified their place in the local live performance scene. Especially with a sold out single launch and being introduced to the Scarborough Beach scene, being put in the lineup for WAMFest’s Scarborough Beach Festival. This year, the band has supported many notable Perth acts such as the Pretty Ugly’s, King Brown and Humble Armada. The pandemic had thrown a spanner in the works as it has for many musicians, but Star Arcana emerged out of lockdown with a refined sound and a vast collection of new music they are excited to show the world. Star Arcana are super excited to release with their new single ‘Don’t Fade’ coming out towards the end of the tour. The song was recorded by Tristan Sturmer at Sumo Studios - a friend who has helped them out a lot over the years with their music, including recording tracks like ‘Sunflower Symphony’ and ‘Brighter Side’. To celebrate the release, the band are going straight into it with a tour! The tour will see the band travelling to Mojo’s Bar (August 12th), Indian Ocean Hotel (August 20th) and Lucy’s Love Shack (September 4th). Supporting acts for each of these shows look amazing as well! For all the info and tickets, click here. Crystal Moonsamy
