Remission, Perth’s local heavy metal maniacs are releasing their long anticipated debut album 'The Tethers End'. If 'Mother War' the first single off the album is any indication of how the rest of the record will sound, we can certainly have high expectations.
First impressions out the gate are amazing listening to the level of production on this debut album. Settle in for a good listen if you're going to tackle this 11 track, 50 minute jaunt through the other side with approximately 90 different riffs. 'The Tether’s End' is shaping up to be a force of blisteringly fast and crushing heavy metal with driving melodies accompanied by pounding riffs and thunderous clockwork drums, laying the foundations for Jacson Robb's brutal vocals. The album speaks volumes not only in its genre but will confront you with its themes of politics, war, world issues and mental health.
Touring has been a strength for the band since their conception in 2014, 2017 saw Remission take their high octane riffage to the Eastern States of Australia, taking part in 'Bangers and Thrash' in Sydney and 'Metal United Down Under' in Melbourne supporting Psycroptic. In 2018 Remission were chosen to support Destruction for the Perth Show of their 2018 tour, the band then set off on a tour of Japan later in the year with the illustrious Taake, Bloodshot Dawn alongside comrades and fellow Perth death metal outfit Earth Rot. In 2019 Remission supported New Zealand titans Alien Weaponry in Perth, hot off their appearance at Download Australia the week prior. November 15 2019 will be your next opportunity to see the band perform in concert, launching their album at Lucy's Love Shack along with support from Population Control, End It All, 9 Foot Super Soldier and House Of Judgement. With the year coming close to done and dusted 2020 looks very promising for Remission, lets see how far they can take it with the release of their debut album The Tether's End!
