Stepping away from the acoustic and heartfelt rawness of his first release 'When Daddy Left', Queency comes back with a bolder, stylish, sparkling piece that is set to get your groove on. But don't get too dazzled by the aesthetics, as Queency is never afraid of telling it as it is. True to form, he shares in 'Material $hit' his sharp criticism of society's cults.
Now available on all streaming and download platforms ‘Material $hit’ is the result of a collaboration with Perth based producer Kruger James. Recorded with a live band this new combination brings a whole new flavour and groove to his songwriting. At first glance ‘Material $hit’ has a great groove that would be welcome at any party and when you look further and listen to the honest and critical lyricism Queency offers you get a glimpse of how powerful this track is.
Queency is a Perth-based singer-songwriter originally from Reunion Island. Testaments to his tropical roots and infectious passion, his compositions and live performances can be sweet or sour, deep or light, soft or energetic. All share the same commonality though: they come from the soul and speak to the soul, generating a range of emotions within anyone listening with their heart.
Although Queency is a relatively new project he’s no stranger to the Perth music scene, he's also known as Quentin Thony - the frontman of Soukouss Internationale - whose vocal abilities and natural talent for stage performance have highly contributed to setting many Perth gigs on fire over the last few years.
