Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, comes promising and upcoming artist Nic Rollo. With a sound knowledge of music from a young age through learning guitar, trumpet and singing, Rollo ventured into the realm of production at 15, gaining inspiration from the likes of Mac Demarco and Tame Impala.
Currently in the process of writing and recording his debut album, Rollo explains his songwriting process as "very much a venting process for me, allowing me to deal with a lot of the negative emotions and thoughts that I have. This venting typically results in the songs to be quite dark lyrically”. This is evident in his music as Rollo incorporates; fresh, bright, mid tempo beats with quite emotional, down to earth topics and lyrics.

With the hurdles of self doubt that come with releasing such a massive body of work, this track 'Show Me What Hurts' came out easily in the studio and is centred around “the slow fracturing of a relationship”. It is this maturity and self awareness that makes Rollo’s music so compelling to listen to, his willingness to explore the good and bad side of love.

Recorded at
Blackbird Studio in Perth and mixed by Dave Parkins, Rollo reveals working with both was “incredibly enjoyable” and felt he found his rhythm in 'Show Me What Hurts' .

Nic’s soulful voice met with a head-bobbing rhythm makes for a very catchy and enjoyable journey. 'Show Me What Hurts' is now available on all platforms.
