Perth’s Indie folk twin sister duo Oceanique are back with 'Drift', a tantalising taste from their upcoming debut EP 'Flowers From Home' (set for release in late February 2021). The nostalgia rich and uplifting new track from the duo perfectly frames the direction for their EP, laced with the angelic harmonies and strong emotional piano melodies the girls are known for.
On 'Drift' the sisters create the feeling of being too safe and loved with their emotive piano melodies and evocative lyrics. Recorded by Samantha Bayliss and mixed and mastered by James Newhouse, the track certainly captures the warm harmonies and moving lyrics that are the core of Oceaniques signature sound.
Hailing from the small south coast town of Walpole WA, the duo’s beautiful folk storytelling is reminiscent of other Aussie legends like Missy Higgins and The Waifs. When you listen to Oceanique you get taken on a journey of the southwest, as the beauty and tranquility of the region is infused through all of their music. The pair have teamed up with WAM Award Winner and Bridgetown favourite Tracey Barnett for a regional tour of Double Single Launches, to celebrate both the release of their track 'Drift' and Tracey’s new single 'Darkness in the Light'. The 'Drift to the Light' tour will end with theofficial launch show at the Sonar Room in Fremantle on November 7th, with support from Ribs and Savanah Solomon.
