GRITTY ROCK BAND THE SCOTCH OF SAINT JAMES SENDS A 'SHOEGAZER TRAILBLAZER' WITH NEW SINGLE4/20/2023 West Australian Rock’n’Roll band The Scotch of Saint James are set to celebrate the release of their new single 'Shoegazer Trailblazer' this Saturday at Mojos Bar in Fremantle. The track is full of power and instantly grabs your attention with it's opening catchy riff and driving energy. Named after the infamous London club where Jimi Hendrix performed as a then-unknown artist, The Scotch of Saint James, shot to notoriety in the late noughties when they won the coveted Triple J Unearthed prize with their sophisticated brand of guitar driven, vintage-tinged rock’n’roll infused with the catchiness of British rock greats The Rolling Stones, The Who and Kula Shaker, and the broody swagger of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Janes Addiction.
'Shoegazer Trailblazer' is the first single from their upcoming 5th Album which they have been working on with new drummer Lauren Reece (The Shakeys, Argh Bats). The upbeat psych-rock track touches on themes of alienation, self confidence and not letting the fear of judgment from others stop you from being your true self. The musicianship is top-notch, the production is clean and polished, and the songwriting is strong and memorable. The chorus is especially strong, with its soaring melody and anthemic lyrics that are sure to get stuck in your head. The guitar solo in the middle of the track is a highlight, showcasing the artists impressive technical skills while still serving the song's overall sound. The upcoming album is rumoured to be released later in 2023 and based off this release, we expect the album to be a compelling and engaging listening experience, with memorable hooks, strong performances, and thoughtful songwriting. This weekend at the launch of 'Shoegazer Trailblazer', they will be supported by MAGE, The Wedges and No Resistor. For more information including ticketing info click here.
