After spending most of his producing career helping other artists with their music, FRAAN makes their debut with single ‘WHATSLOVE’, hoping to solidify his position as an all rounding artist in Australia’s eyes.
The producer takes a strong interest in sounds from the R&B and hip hop genres, so it’s no surprise that his work jumps around these and the trap soul spaces. FRAAN’s musical trademark comes in the form of unique production - using everything in his arsenal (from production and creative direction to melodies and mixing techniques), the artist has successfully curated these to make his own unique musical signature. This has definitely garnered some attention from other Australian powerhouse artists who have consequently sought out his production skills to put under their discography.

After spending some time perfecting his craft with other musicians, FRAAN is now looking to present himself to the world with debut single, ‘WHATSLOVE’. When asked about the track’s inspiration, FRAAN says; “‘WHATSLOVE’ is a complex one to explain because it's fusing two different emotions, and I guess a listener will draw from it what they want. The record is my take on explaining what love will be like without the things we share with someone we love, the things that hold us together. But on the other hand, you have to be good with yourself without love. We’ve gotta live life and experience everything we can regardless.”

The song is built upon a modern trap/R&B style self-produced instrumental with a punchy drum kit and processed keys, which encourages a darker atmosphere and feeling to the song. Paired with the artist’s expressive lyrics and vocal processing, it marks itself as another hit for the producer, but a perfect introduction to the music world.

Make sure to listen to ‘WHATSLOVE’ below!
