We have been waiting a long time for Daisies Net's debut EP - 'On The Apple Island'. It is epically beautiful, delicate and tranquil and we encourage you to rest your mind and soul for 20 minutes. The EP features recent singles 'Kunanyi' and 'Sounds Rivulet' to complete one truly stunning piece of work.
Take a look into Daisies Net’s (Emma Stokes) complex and at times fragile world; after discovering her situation at home and heart was in a bad place and that her health and wellbeing at risk, Stokes decided to make a big move in life, literally moving to one of the most secluded and remote areas of the world hoping to find solace and comfort. What she returned with is an intricate E.P and a new lease on life.
Speaking on her time during the creation of her unexpected and unplanned work of art, Stokes comments “I had been really sick for a long time & trapped in a situation that was irreparably hurting me. I somehow bundled myself up and moved to Hobart without any definite local connections or places to stay. I’d never intended to record while I was there so the equipment I used to make this E.P. fit inside my carry-on luggage. These songs are the narrative of my time on the island; it was a bit strange & utterly surprising- Set against a backdrop of unparalleled natural beauty, a source of healing, treasured companionship, and real magic.”
Daisies Net’s brand new E.P, 'On The Apple Island' released on October 9 encapsulates this delicate time in her life, composing most of these works from her bed during the times she faced while in personal exile, experience a journey into her world and become immersed, you won’t regret it!
