After toiling away in the softly lit studios of Riley Brewer, Claudie Joy & The Joy Boys are excited to finally release to the world their debut single, ‘Honey’ - an auditory love letter to Australian Summers. The release was celebrated with a launch at Mojos Bar on Thursday the 19th of November, with support from incredible storytellers, Joe Goldsmith, Hec and Salt Band.
Claudie Joy & The Joy Boys is the band project behind young WA musician Claudia Tero, who is fast gaining a small but dedicated following through her quirky stage presence and her earnest-yet-playful lyrics.
“lyrics with a lingering sense of melancholy” - Mark Neil (RTR)
‘Honey’ is a beautiful folk track that will leave any folk fan wanting to hear more from Claudie Joy & The Joy Boys. A beautiful soundscape with feel good guitar riffs and a perfect example of Claudia’s skillful, earnest and fun style of songwriting.
Written in the dust ridden caravan lodged in Claudie Joy’s backyard, just about held together by the asbestos tiles and peeling lead paint, Claudie has captured something that all of us who have experienced an Australian Summer will be able to identify with and get nostalgic for. Just in time for Summer 2020, Claudie reminds us of the honey gold light before sunset and other memorable parts of the Summer heat.
Officially released as of the 12th, you can now listen and buy ‘Honey’ online, plus I would highly recommend that you check out a live show and experience more of what Claudie Joy & The Joy Boys have to offer.
