BEN CATLEY RELEASES NEW ROCK SINGLE ‘FOR THE LIFE OF ME’ FEATURING BLUES LEGEND ASH GRUNWALD8/27/2020
Ben Catley comes out swinging on his newest release ‘For The Life of Me’, kicking it into high gear immediately with a heavy Stratocaster guitar toned riff on top of a driving industrial drum beat. The single is a high energy rock affair, featuring a guitar solo from Aussie blues legend Ash Grunwald, it’s a note-to-self for times of self-doubt, to conjure memories of the times when you feel unstoppable, and to always keep pushing yourself.
‘For The Life of Me’ is characterised by those big Stratocaster tones, driving industrial percussion and gritty vocals pushing the energetic and heavy verses before lifting into the melodic and soaring choruses. Rising out of the middle of the song is the signature sound of Ash Grunwald’s distinctive guitar soloing for a tremendous crescendo.
The single was recorded by Lance Robinson (Coldplay, Karnivool, 360) down at Pavement Studios and mastered by the iconic Abbey Road Studios. Ben has shown us a new direction with some big electric guitar on this one, an exciting sign of future things to come. Ben has performed across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Holland, the Philippines and showcased at music industry festivals in Singapore and Réunion Island, so you’ll be hard pressed to find many musicians in Perth as comfortable on a stage as him. His positive and motivating style of songwriting incorporates elements from many different genres such as folk, rock, blues and dance music, bringing a unique twist to the acoustic soloist performance. You can be sure to catch Ben at some gigs later this year as our local music scene starts to wind itself back up again. Check out ‘For The Life of Me’ below or on any major streaming platform.
