Balmy Nights Festival, one of the most exciting and anticipated musical festivals of the south coast, returns for its fourth-year running at the Cannery Arts Centre Esperance on November 20th. Set in the art centre’s round garden, Balmy Nights strives to celebrate women and genderqueer artists within the music industry as well as becoming a must go-to stop in the Esperance live music scene. The event is set to feature a brilliant lineup of artists, such as Aria Nominee Grace Barbe, Bec Schutz, Mary Leske and Darcie Haven, Oceanique, Joan and The Giants and electro pop duo Priscilla. Creative direction is formed in collaboration with local businesses like Esperance Tide, Brodeine and Deine, Love Childs and Luxe Floral and Home Co., which is also he event’s main sponsor. Kyza Presents Owner Operator, Kyron Smithson, says; “Balmy Nights has become the most sustainable and exciting of the live music events I work on within the Esperance region, with the key to its success being collaboration between local businesses and organisations, exceptional live acts, also its unique identity.”
Balmy Nights Festival is designed to only build upon the wide range of programs and art mediums available at the Cannery Arts Centre. Thanks to the new found support from the Mt Burdett Foundation for the event’s ongoing strategic development, we will be seeing all sorts of expansion for the event, including human capacity building, community engagement and emerging artist development within the event. There will also be workshops available the following day (November 21st), hosted by Nannup Music Director Phaedra Watts, who will be focused on strategic event management (with consideration given to the ongoing growth of Balmy Nights) and Grace Barbe, the headliner of his event, will also be holding a songwriting workshop. The workshops on Sunday are made possible through support from WAM, Act Belong Commit and the Mt Burdett Foundation. Balmy Nights is brought to you by Kyza Presents, The Cannery Arts Centre, Esperance Tide, Brodeine and Deine, Love Childs, Regional Arts WA and The Shire of Esperance. Our event would not exist without local sponsorship, many thanks to our key local sponsor Luxe Floral and Home Co, also to Tim Green Construction and the Lillypad Esperance.
